I admit, I don't do much of these journal entries nowadays, but I figured I'd write this one to start off a new challenge which should take the entire year if I successfully pull it off...
A challenge in which sacrifices have to be made...
My Lipogram Challenge.
For those of you who don't know what a lipogram is, it's a form of writing (like a poem or a short story) which purposely excludes a certain letter of the alphabet. For example, the story "Gadsby", which was written without the letter E!
I plan to write twenty-six such short stories over the course of the year, and to make things fair, each day, I'm going to be drawing a letter at random, and that corresponds to the story that I'll be working on that particular day. I plan for each story to have fourteen chapters, so with twenty-six stories, that should be a whopping 364 chapters!
Can I do this? Will I do this? Maybe I can do this...
In any case, wish me luck on this!
